Hello RPS Community,

Yesterday we enjoyed our Grade 3-6 Athletics Carnival at Edwardes Lake. It was a beautiful day and great to see students having a go and cheering each other on. A big thanks to James and all the volunteers to helped out on the day.

On Tuesday we also had Dr Cranky’s Bikes visit – they are returning on Thursday 13th March too. Next week, we open the gates for our Community Night. This is an opportunity for families to get to know each other in a relaxed atmosphere. Please bring a picnic rug, some snacks and perhaps a little cash to enjoy the coffee van and ice-cream van and face painting. We’ll also have some lawn games for families to play together.

Dear Reservoir Community,

This week we took some time to meet with families in our Getting to Know You Interviews. This is a valuable opportunity to better understand the role we all play in ensuring our young people grow in their learning and wellbeing, and establish our important partnership between school and home.

I’d like to thank those families who took the time to meet with teachers, and our wonderful staff who stayed back late two nights in a row.

Dear RPS community,

On behalf of Connie, myself and all staff at Reservoir Primary School, I’d like to welcome all families back for 2025. Our students are ready and enthusiastic for learning, and all classrooms are humming.

We enjoyed our first assembly for 2025 this morning and I look forward to meeting together as a community throughout the year. Please note that assembly is held at 9:10am every Friday morning in the Gym, and caregivers are invited.

We begin our assembly every week with our Acknowledgement of Country, National Anthem and ensemble. Throughout assemblies we have presentations from classes, student awards and musical performances. Once selected, our Young Leaders will host each week. We look forward to seeing you there.

Dear Caregivers,

It’s hard to believe we have come to our final newsletter for the year. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the school community your support in both my acting and now substantive role as Principal; your ongoing commitment to public education and Reservoir Primary School ensures we can provide the best education possible. I’d also like to once again thank Helen Miller for her significant service to our school community, and by all accounts, Helen is enjoying time with family and friends.

My thanks extends to our amazing staff who invest hours upon hours of their time to do what is needed. We are truly so privileged to have such expertise at our school. Thanks to our school council who volunteer their time to improve our school through various meetings, subcommittees and fundraisers. Finally, I’d like to thank Connie for her leadership throughout this year and her care of this community.

Newsletter Issue 18: 29 November 2024

Dear Caregivers,

It’s hard to believe we have just three weeks left of the school year! The amazing 1S students reminded us today at assembly about kindness, and I think that’s a great message for us all. This time of year is a time of happiness and excitement, but can also make us feel stressed and tired. My message to the students was to try to show some kindness each day to their peers, their teachers and their loved ones.

Dear Caregivers,

This week we have some new arrivals in the Prep area; our chickens have began to hatch! Prep students are learning all about life cycles, and this experience will be something they remember throughout their schooling. They are also learning about taking care of animals and respecting their environment.

Our current Prep students also enjoyed Pizza night on Wednesday which is always a highlight on the calendar!

Dear RPS Community,

It’s hard to believe this is the final day of Term 3! This term has been jampacked with exciting events and news, culminating in Footy Colours Day and the amazing Year 2 sleepover last night. There were certainly some tired bodies (staff too!) today but we had fun.

Mini Fair

Mini-fair is happening again next term in Week 4. Please look out for ways you can support this great fun afternoon with donations for stalls. You may also want to run a stall yourself to raise money for the school. Look out for more information in this newsletter.
