Dear Reservoir Primary Community, 

This week we have had a visit from Andrew and Loretta from Preston Police, who delivered important presentations regarding cybersafety to parents and students in Grade 3-6. They will be returning next week for sessions for students in Grade Prep-2.

Andrew and Loretta delivered the Think u Know presentation, with a focus on cybersafety, in particular, preventing child exploitation and grooming. Their key messages for students were:

• Never speak to people online unless you have met them in person
• Tell an adult if you are worried
• Never give people online your name, age or where you live.

Key messages for parents were:

• Make sure you are supervising your child’s online activity – parental controls are not enough
• Report any concerns to the e-safety commissioner or police
• Ensure your child feels safe to tell you if they have handed over information or money to someone online.
